Izzah holds herself to a high standard of academic achievement and has achieved band 6 results in HSC Advanced English, Legal Studies, Ancient History, Extension History and PDHPE in 2021. As an ex-Dymocks student, Izzah is thrilled to return as a tutor and help students increase their confidence in themselves and realise their academic potential. A fun fact about Izzah is that she loves Ancient History, and is a big fan of Egyptian pharaohs like Akhenaten!
I’ve been tutoring Legal Studies to Year 11 and Year 12 students since 2022 on both core and a range of option topics. Legal Studies was my favourite subject in high school due to its exploration of how the law addresses and adapts to contemporary issues in society. I’m passionate about teaching this subject, particularly topics like Crime and Family Law, because I enjoy helping students understand legal principles, apply them to concrete real-world scenarios, and develop their own critical thinking and judgments about the legal system. I'm currently studying psychology with an interest in pursuing forensic psychology, and my Honours research will be focused on understanding the factors underlying criminal behaviour. This has equipped me with valuable research skills and knowledge of the criminal justice system that allows me to better teach topics such as young offenders, alternative sentencing, and crime prevention.
