My top 5 study tips
Questions in exams do not just test one single knowledge but usually test a collaboration of knowledge and concepts. Therefore it is really critical to understand the connections between concepts. Mindmap is a really good way to achieve this. This can be done after each topic or after multiple similar topics.
Doing lots of test paper is beneficial but may not be highly effective, the important thing is to make sure the same mistake is not made the next time. Thus, by organising and analysing the mistakes made in the test, the student can clearly know what are the gaps in the knowledge he/she has and especially tackles those questions.
In order to teach others, the person needs to have a clear understanding about the concepts. It also trains the student's reasoning skill while explaining the cause and effect. This can be done after the mindmap which will solidify the understanding of the concepts even more.
Many people like to multitask to save time. Doing maths in English lessons or writing essays in a Maths class. However from my own experience and other researches, I come to realise that the most efficient way is to focus one thing at a time. This will make the brain utilise all its energy to that one thing and be able to understand the concept quickly and better.
For example, memorise 15 vocabularies a day. Even it is just something small, continuous effort and practice will certainly make things work at the end. Besides, plans and routines would make our mind not scattered but lead us to the goal closer and closer. Remember, the plan and goal also need to be SMART.
