Foundations
Yearly Success Program
From Launchpad to Foundations
A solid foundation in Mathematics and English is the cornerstone to succeeding in the HSC’s highest-scaling subjects. Without a rock-solid grasp of literacy and numeracy skills, as well as higher-order critical and analytical abilities, students will struggle to keep up in future years when the academic workload becomes much more challenging. Our Foundations program gives students the tools they need to tackle the challenges of the years to come, by ensuring that they have no weaknesses in Maths and English that may compromise their results later on.

Steps To Success
Yearly Success Program
From Foundations to Steps
After a solid foundation of understanding has been established in Years 8 and 9, it’s important to prepare for Year 10. Our ‘Steps to Success’ Yearly Success Program is designed to prepare students for the increased level of academic rigour they’ll encounter in Year 10. Our accelerated program offers students a learning advantage compared to their peers, as they’ll be covering Year 10 content in depth. This will then allow them to begin studying Year 11 material in our Year 10 ‘Headstart’ program. The benefit of being a year ahead of your peers is incalculable; students essentially reach Year 10 and hit the ground running, and this in turn prepares them for a successful transition into Year 11 and 12.
The Importance of Steps Mathematics
Developing strong numeracy skills will not only enable you to take the higher levels of Mathematics (i.e. Mathematics Extension 1 and 2); doing so will also allow you to excel in the other highest-scaling subjects of the HSC (Physics, Chemistry and Economics). If you are good at Mathematics, you will naturally find subjects that have a large amount of mathematical content that much easier, and Talent 100 can help you make the most of your natural abilities.
This is why developing strong mathematical skills early on can help provide students with a strong competitive edge in non-English based courses, which count for 80% of their final HSC results. For this reason, the Talent 100 Steps course is focused on developing and improving mathematical foundations.
The Importance of Steps English
English is the only compulsory subject in the HSC, so it is crucial for you to excel in English in order to secure a top ATAR. Developing strong analytical reading skills and being able to write structured and concise essays are also essential to succeeding in humanities-based subjects, such as Modern and Ancient History, in which written essays count for almost half of the exam. Developing these skills takes time, so if you’re looking to secure top marks in HSC English, it’s important to start early.

Headstart
Yearly Success Program
From Steps to Headstart: You’re On Track for an ATAR Advantage
The level of difficulty and gap from Year 10 to Year 11 can be daunting. Bridge the gap by learning ahead for your final years of high school. With the Headstart Yearly Success Program, students enter Year 11 prepared – this means they can use school time to revise content they’ve already learned in Year 10.
Talent 100 students who took the Headstart course outperformed their non-Headstart peers in our standardised exams by an average of 6.5% in Maths and 5% in Sciences. That’s an overall difference of 2.25 ATAR points. We call this the “Headstart Advantage”.
Develop a competitive advantage in Maths, English, Physics and Chemistry by starting early – one of the best features of the Headstart program is that it allows you to test and trial subjects before you finalise subject selection in Year 11. That way, you are able to see if you are capable of coping with the demands of the highest-scaling subjects, allowing you to make a more informed decision about which subjects to pursue in your final years of high school.
In addition to this, because Year 12 content builds on top of Year 11 content, the Headstart Advantage carries all the way through to your HSC year by extension.

Preliminary
Yearly Success Program
From Headstart to Your Year 11 Preliminary Year
Once you have learned the fundamentals of Year 11 during Year 10 in our Headstart program, the Talent 100 Preliminary course builds on the basics to cover Year 11 topics more comprehensively and in greater depth, in a way that targets the syllabus more closely. Commencing the Preliminary Program from Term 4 (ONE TERM ahead of your school), you’ll move past learning the broad conceptual basis for each Year 11 topic, to a razor-sharp and syllabus-specific focus on the finer points of each subject. By the time you cover the topic in school you will be REVISING, rather than LEARNING it for the first time.
Students cover every single syllabus dot point to a full marks standard, and learn how to answer the toughest HSC questions with sample solutions and marking guidelines from our top state-ranking Mentors. Talent 100’s superior learning system has been designed to help students not only understand the subject matter inside out, but to translate this knowledge into exam excellence.
Year 11 content builds on top of Year 10 content, so a first-principles understanding of Year 11 theory is crucial for a successful HSC year.
