Meet Our Talent 100 Students: Hewitt (Year 12 2019)

While you’re usually used to our staff and mentor blogs, we’ve decided to flip the switch so you can find out more about the students who actually study at Talent 100.

We can share their unique personalities and passions both in and outside of our classrooms.

This week we’ve been chatting to Bossley Park High School studentĀ Hewitt, who just completed his 2019 HSC Examinations. Best of luck, Hewitt!

When did you join Talent 100?

I joined Talent in Year 10, Term 1 for Mathematics and Science with Verdant Dave which would make it 2017.

Which Talent 100 centre did you study in?

I primarily studied in the Epping Centre during School Terms with Michael Liu, and at the Chatswood Centre during the holidays with a range of great Mentors.

Which subjects did you take in your final year at Talent 100?

I did Mathematics Extension 1 with Andrew, Chemistry and Physics with Michael Liu and Mathematics with Quinlan Chen while I was a student at Talent 100.

What’s the best part about studying at Talent 100?

The best part would definitely be the positive relationship I have made with friends and my tutor.

The atmosphere at Talent is very approachable so being friends with your Mentors and other classmates isn’t hard at all, especially for a slowly evolving introvert such as myself!

Have you tried any of our Fast Forward, Revision or Holiday Programs? If so, how did they benefit your learning?

I have tried them, and the best part would be the opportunity to learn things twice. It’s pretty cool being ahead so you can help others in school.

Can you share your number one study tip?

My number one study tip would be to set goals. Don’t stack all your tasks in one day without organisation. Organise your day and ensure you have breaks in between. We’re all human so we all need to have breaks.

What’s a piece of advice you would give to students sitting the 2020 HSC?

While studying is important, remember to have fun as well. You’re only in high school once, so make sure you make the most of it before you lose it.

Study hard and work towards your dreams, but also don’t forget to spend time with friends.

What are your career aspirations after high school?

After high school, my aspiration is to be a teacher since I’ve seen all the influence a good teacher can make on the youths of today. I’ll also be heading to the University of Sydney!

What’s your hidden talent/something we might not know about you?

I don’t know if it’s a talent, but I am allergic to literally everything so good luck trying to feed meĀ ^_^
